Emmerdale actress Amelia Flanagan has landed a new film role outside the ITV soap.
The 17-year-old performer has played April Windsor since 2014 and is the older sibling of twins Isabella and William Flanagan, who portray Hope Dobbs and Joseph Brown in competing ITV soap Coronation Street.
In recent Emmerdale storylines, April has become entangled in distressing drug dealing, human trafficking, and sex trafficking plots, as villains Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) manipulated her into participating in the horrific crimes.
The 16-year-old schoolgirl was also left deeply shaken after believing she had murdered a sinister client named Callum following his assault on her, when she struck him with a vodka bottle.
However, Callum remains alive, though April has yet to discover his actual fate.
This week, the ITV soap centres on the circumstances surrounding Ray's murder, after he was discovered dead shortly following stabbing his mother Celia fatally in the back, reports the Express.
A series of flashbacks traces Ray's final moments as multiple villagers fall under suspicion for his killing, including Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who has seemingly returned from the dead.
Beyond all the turmoil in the Dales, April actress Amelia Flanagan has joined the cast of an upcoming film titled The Rebooted.
The production also features Ian Beattie known for Game of Thrones, Primeval star Andrew Lee Potts, and Bridgerton's Martins Imhangbe. On Instagram on Wednesday (January 21), Panchariya Brothers Productions revealed Amelia's role in the upcoming film.
They posted: "Meet the cast of 'The Rebooted' (2026), a @panchariyabrothersproductions film, written and directed by @mjrowney.
The Rebooted picture depicts Amelia's debut in the cinema. Beyond Emmerdale, she has appeared in just one other programme, Mini Moguls in 2018, where she portrayed Grace.
Amelia is anticipated to remain in her role as April in Emmerdale.
